Bibliography on Demand and Literature Search Service
Bibliography on demand service is particularly useful for the research scholars who are not tech savvy and / or do not have access to electronic resources in general or a particular database is not available in the nearby libraries. Bibliography/literature can be provided to the scholars based on their requests.
Charges: 500/- for up to 50 abstracts and 200/- for up to 40 references without abstracts, registered postal charges extra. Bibliography can be ordered online at ICSSR website.
Continuing Education Programme
In order to keep in touch with the latest developments and to develop specialised skills in accessing social science information, short-term training workshops / seminars / interactive sessions and lectures are organised.
E-Resources for ICSSR’s Research Institutes (RIs) and Regional Centres (RCs)
A capacity building programme initiated by ICSSR for its RIs & RCs. Free access to full text high quality scholarly e-journals and other research material is provided to the ICSSR fraternity.

Professional Skill Development
In order to refine the employment opportunities of upcoming library and information science professionals, NASSDOC carries out following activities:
a.     Apprenticeship: One year practical training/exposure along with experience certificate is provided to the students who have passed out their B.L.I.Sc. / M.L.I.Sc.
b.    Internship Training: One month rigorous internship training is provided to the Library & Information Science students of various Universities to fulfil their course requirement.
c.     Educational Tour: NASSDOC is part of curriculum of various Library and Information Science schools of Indian universities and other educational institutions. Their students and teachers visit NASSDOC to acquaint themselves with its programmes, functions, services and technology.
Membership of Professional Bodies
NASSDOC is a member of Indian Association of Special Libraries and Information Centres (IASLIC), Indian Library Association (ILA), International Federation of Library Associations and Institutes (IFLA) and Developing Library Network (DELNET) etc.
Reprography Service/Document Delivery / Inter-library Loan
NASSDOC provided photocopies of desired material has borrow and issue facility of documents through Inter library loan.

ICSSR Sales and Distribution Service
To enhance the circulation base of ICSSR publications for wider dissemination and to promote sale of its publications, ICSSR has set up a Sales Counter at NASSDOC.
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Projects
·        NASSDOC has completed projects like establishment of Social Science Libraries Network (2004), National Knowledge Network (NKN) Connectivity (2018), setting up of Digital Resources Learning Centre (2018).
·        Work is going on for Development and integration of Web based OPAC of NASSDOC with ICSSR’s Social Science Research Institutes and Regional Centres.
·        NASSDOC is developing ICSSR Digital Repository of Research Projects Reports (3500+) which is accessible nationally as well as internationally.

Future Plans
ü  Development of  Social Science Subject Gateway of NASSDOC including all ICSSR Research Institutes & Regional Centres
ü  Development of Union Database of Social Science Journals’ holdings of NASSDOC and ICSSR Research Institutes & Regional Centres.
ü  Development of real-time Directory of Social Science Teachers and Researchers in Indian institutions for their visibility and research output
ü  Design and development of Mobile app for NASSDOC services

ü  To facilitate the access of ICSSR Institutional Repository through National Digital Library of India.
