Contractual Positions at ICSSR, New Delhi

Applications are invited for the following positions in the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi purely on contract basis:

1. Programmer
2. Research Assistants
3. Consultant ( Engineer)
4. Driver

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS AND PRESCRIBED PROFORMA

1. PROGRAMMER
(i). A master’s degree with atleast 50% marks in any of the social science or statistics or mathematics or operational research.
(ii). At least 3 years experience in computer programming.
(iii). At least 2 years experience in data processing on modern computers.
(iv). Age 21 to 45 years.

Desirable
A degree or diploma in computer sciences from a recognized institution/university.

2. RESEARCH ASSISTANTS
1. M.A. with at least 50% marks in any of the Social Sciences.
2. At least two years research experience involving field interviews, coding of survey and aggregate data and statistical processing of social science data.

3. CONSULTANT (ENGINEER)
Retired Engineer from CPWD or any other Govt. organisation having knowledge /experience of buildings, roads, estate maintenance & development.

4. DRIVER
1. Higher Secondary.
2. Should hold a valid licence for driving heavy/light vehicles with sufficient experience.
3. Age 24 to 45 years.

Our New Chairman Prof. Braj Bihari Kumar

MoU between the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) & Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS)

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) & Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on 8th May 2017 by Professor V.K. Malhotra, Member-Secretary, ICSSR and Professor Dang Nguyen Anh, Vice President of VASS at the office of VASS, Hanoi (Vietnam) will be valid for three years from the date of its signing.

ICSSR and VASS acknowledging the importance of international scientific and scholarly cooperation and exchange, agree to to promote the cooperation between Indian and Vietnamese social scientists and research institutes for the development of social sciences and humanities in both countries.

The activities under this bilateral collaboration to be undertaken are as under:

1. Exchange of scientific information, materials and scientific publics in the field of social sciences.

2. Promote and facilitate the organization of workshops/conferences and joint researches on the subjects of common interest.

3. Support the organization of joint researches among member institutes on the subjects of common interest.

4. Pursue other activities which are not specifically referred to as above , but through mutual agreement in the spirit this MoU

The current issue of New Arrivals contains a list of Reference Works, New Books, acquired during the period October – December 2016 and available for use in the National Social Science Documentation Centre of ICSSR.

In the main text, entries are arranged by Author, followed by bibliographical details of the document. Books with editors have been arranged by title.
